Purchased Thor Marimar Motorhome new. In less than two years clear coat peeling and paint oxidizing. Camping world stated the was a problem with the work at the factory. Thor rep stated that everything was a gel coat. I had to prove that it did have a clear coat....

Thor Four Winds 22E

bought new June 2015 and have only had 4 outings in it. Was really satisfied until I had to fix curtain pulls on 2 of the windows. Now I have a big lower drawer that the track has pulled off. This is a problem I can't fix myself. Am not happy right now. We take extremely good care of our things and coming from a travel trailer to the RV Ford we was very excited. Now I'm wondering why we didn't just stay with our older travel trailer that we had for many years with no problems! I cannot fix this problem myself and the inconvenienc of having to go somewhere to take care of this is a plan that I am not happy with. If we have to leave the unit somewhere I do not have a vehicle I can drive home with and with a unit this new I cannot understand why we have this problem. I take extremely good care of our things and was counting on keeping this unit as my retirement unit, but if I am having problems now, what can I expect in the future?

ACE 30.2

Just don't buy a Thor product of any kind. We got the ACE 30.2 because of the layout and great price. Problems...dash not connected to the vehicle at all. Rubber seals around all the windows not completely sealed letting bugs in like mad. The venting in the ceiling...

Overall guality

I have drove the subject coach on two trips all across the US and Canada. I am quite happy with the Ford frame and drive train. I am happy with the coach but have some comments regarding a lack of an acceptable quality assurance program. Some examples include: a) I had to fix a leak below the roof antenna. The leak had been "fixed" apparently, but not adequately. b) the carpet along the fire wall and below the dash had been improperly installed with open edges out versus tucked under. I fixed that with carpet glue and staples. c) A mushroom is forming on the edge of the windshield between the glass laminates. In Durante said they can't be responsible for a new windshield. Poor glass construction can be caught at the factory. d) I have tried two times and hopefully have fixed the wooden top face piece on the main slide out. It comes loose and has to be entirely glued back on-like from the factory. My next fix will be installation of steel flat stock and bolts. There is more, but I must seem to be complaining too much. No "how do you like our product" note ever came to my house. I fix things myself rather than drive to a dealer approved service place (50) miles and more, because too many trips would be needed. And, I have been severely burned by low quality trash and extreme measures to get repairs with last RV I owned-a Coachman trailer. I thought moving up to a motor home would solve that problem. But, I will see how year number three goes for travel, etc.

Thor Industries Rv Review from Phoenix, Arizona

We are on a trip with our Vegas, the curtains have had to be replaced, and they are falling apart again, the pipe for the kitchen sink is broke, and water goes all over. The table fell apart when we tried to dismantle it. We have had the motor home for a year , due to sickness this is the first time we have used it. Then when wwe went to use the bunk they never gave us the ladder. Nice motor home if things didn't fall apart

2015 Thor Industries Challenger Review from Chicago, Illinois

I have read with great interest the problems with the purchase of a Thor recreational vehicle. I purchase a 2015 Challenger in February and have only been able to use it twice. It has been to 6 different service centers and is in one now since July21 with the repair work not being completed. I believe I purchased a lemon in fact I know it is. Sent letter to the CEO of Thor with no response from him but a nice lady who is trying to help with the service department in Indianapolis camping world. I would also like a new motor coach that is ready to use for fun not in a repair center. How do we the consumer make the Thor company responsible for the *** workmanship they sell? Linda Hancock

We have a Lemon too! Waste of $$$

Linda

My husband and I are going through the same thing. Our Hurricane is a Lemon, too.

We hired Ronald Burdge in Dayton, OH and have filed a federal lawsuit against Thor. If your state does not have an RV lemon law, there is a federal RV lemon law that should cover you.

We would highly suggest you contacting Mr. Burdge at Burdge Law Firm and give him the details of your situation.

It's worth a shot!.

Good Luck

Linda

I also had to go the Magnason Moss lawsuit route (full wall slide was manufactured incorrectly and showed catastrophic failure issues while still in warranty). My attorney, Dan Binn of Consumer Law Group, is working our issue with Thor.
