Quality does not happen at Thor

With all the complaints, we need to get together and sue them. If anyone is interested, please send your story and e-mail address to dutchhelp@***.com We will see if they pay attention to the consumers that have had problems getting them to listen. If you want someone to pay attention hit them where it hurts, the wallet! In your e-mail give your story and what the costs have been, financial and emotional. As a group we have power as individuals they will just stonewall and ignore. Next on the list should be Camping World and the CEO Marcus Lemonis and his billions. By the way heis attempting to take over the entire Recreational market in the US. Be aware of him and his tactics he can be ruthless. I have spoken with him personally, not a very nice individual.

Thor Industries - 2015 Thor Motor Coach Chateau Review from Washington, Pennsylvania

We purchased a 20157Thor Château motorhome in February 2015 so far we have found missing screws misaligned sewer hoses loose battery cables one cable was missing completely that charged the coach batteries drawers that fell out from missing screws the walls in the bathroom where but slapping because they weren't secured right the tip out was not sealed correctly the vent hose for fresh water was kinked due to a worker smashing it with one of the braces for the drawers I called camping world where I purchased it and they said that I would have to drop it off and they would have it for approximately 2 to 3 months so I did all the work myself because it was easier to buy screws and and cables and clamps than to be without a motorhome that we paid over $70,000 for just to have it sitting in a shop. It says built by union workers which is really a shame cause I was a union worker and we took pride in our work didn't throw it together like for motor company does. Either their quality control people need fired or the workers need to take their time and pride in what they build. We've always owned Fleetwood motor homes and they are 10 times the quality of a thor motorhome. Is our fourth motorhome and it will be the last for motorhome we own.

Product quality horrible with 2015 THOR Hurricane Motorhome

Our motorhome has been at Camping World in Olive Branch, MS getting worked on more than we have had it to enjoy since we bought it in November 2014. We have had so many issues with it. We have decided it is definitely a LEMON and wish we had never purchased a THOR motorhome. Since day 1, the leveling jacks have never worked properly. We have been on 3 road trips, one in Feb., one in March, and the month of April and they have not worked properly on any of our trips. We continue to get an error message saying "Unable to finish leveling" or "Excessive Angle". Every time we get back from a trip, we take it to Camping World in Olive Branch, MS which we are also very disappointed and unhappy with their service. In addition to the leveling jacks not working, here are some other issues we have had. 1. The generator did not work and we had to take it to Onan to get it fixed in Dec. 2014. In February 2015 2. The refrigerator did not work on propane 3. The hot water tank did not work on electric or propane 4. The propane gauge did not work. It was showing a full tank of propane when we were in Nashville with temps in the teens and we woke up at 3:30 a.m. with no heat. We found out that the propane tank was empty even though the propane gauge showed a full tank. 5. Our windshield leaked 6. We had a flat tire and had to have Good Sam's come fix our tire so we could get back home. It was a defective air line. In March 2015 7. Our hot water tank still did not work on electric. It worked on propane after taking it to Camping World in Olive Branch, MS but still did not work on electric. 8. Leveling Jacks still did not work properly. In April 2015 9. Camped at 6 different campgrounds and leveling jacks only worked one day in the whole month of 6 different campgrounds. 10, Water leak under the couch. 11. Window shade over couch broke and was unable to raise. 12. Window shade over kitchen sink fell down in sink while driving. As of this morning, I have emailed Marcus Lemonis, CEO and Chairman of Camping World and Good Sam Enterprises, expressing our disappointment and frustration with Camping World and THOR Enterprises. We would love for you to exchange our lemon of a motorhome for a new one; one that we can enjoy and begin to use without all these issues. Les and Susan Warren Bartlett, Tennessee

THOR INDUSTRIES & THE RV SHOP OF BATON ROUGE- NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

Thor Hurricane is a lemon

We have filed a law suit against Thor as we purchased a 2015 Hurricane in 2014. In the first 6 months we had ownership, it spent over 3 months in the service department for many issues which to date are still not corrected including a windshield that none of their dealers can seem to fix which leaks water constantly to the point where the dash board fills up with water. The hydraulic system blew up and to date still cannot auto level itself. There are many other small issues their dealers cannot fix yet Thor could care less. WE HAVE FILED A LAWSUIT AND ANY INTERESTED PARTY LOOKING TO JUMP IN THIS SUIT WITH THEIR OWN ISSUES WITH THEIR THOR PRODUCT IS WELCOMED. PLEASE CONTACT JEFF @ 978-580-****

Am I glad I read this! I ALMOST purchased a Thor...

I had found one for a good price but seeing these reviews, I will definitely go for a better brand that values quality and good customer service.

You can feel satisfied that you saved new buyer from buying a Thor because I was ready, willing, and able to buy one and was looking to purchase this week.

Yikes! Close call....

Thor Industries - Thor Motor Coach Review from Cathan, Washington
I will never buy another Thor motor coach. Its designed badly and assembled even worse. Your better off buying a old clunker and redoing everything. Because with a new Thor you're going to have to anyway. Save your money. Buy anything else.

What model did you purchase? Can you be more specific about the problems you have had?

I like the models that Thor puts out but we are having second thoughts about the quality.

And so far I am not impressed with any of the dealerships! I appreciate any feedback you can offer.

I purchased a 2015 Thor Axis, biggest mistake ever.

Update by user Jun 09, 2015

Did get the unit back and the two items that I reported this time have been fixed, sort of. It turns out since the return of the unit to my home I have had two more issues, TV remotes where not correct for the televisions installed.

Also the front awning no longer will extend. Cannot take unit back to Camping World for at least two more weeks.

Have engaged a law firm to file under New York State Lemon Law. Thor has not yet responded.

Original review posted by user May 10, 2015
I made the purchase with great hopes of having a wonderful time using the unit in September 2014. To date I have not been able to use the unit as designed, no sleeping, cooing or any unit capabilities due to so many issues with the coach and Ford components. For the past two weeks the unit has been at Camping World attempting to fix this next group of issues, hot water tank and battery charging issues. I have now been told by Thor that since I did not perform maintenance, even though the unit has never been used, they will not pay for any of the replacement items. The unit has a total of 1500 miles all of which have been placed on me driving back and forth to Camping World and a Ford dealership for repairs. I have even suggested they take the unit back and give me another or take it back and I will purchase another. Of course the unit is now considered used and I much take a large loss. I am preparing to file a Lemon Law suit in an attempt to get out from under. I strongly suggest that no make any purchases of a Thor unit or purchase from Camping World shops.

I also had to get a lawyer for my 2015 axis motor home, thor has come up with some really lame excuses to avoid their responsibilities, they claimed that they didn't know where the motor home was, I took it to place that they recommended, and they sent list of items that had to be fixed to shop motor home was at so they did know where it was, now they are 3 months past deadline to repair/return my money under the lemon law and have had to file a full suit against thor as they have refused to comply with lemon law requirements, my motor home has been at shop since beginning of Feb.

Have them check to see if the battery harness is connected. Ruined a set of chassis and coach batteries in a brand new coach because the harness was left disconnected at Thor upon manufacture.

Thor would not reimburse to have the brand nwe batteries replaced. August/September 2014 must have been a bad time for Thor Motorcoach's manufacturing facility.

Cannot provide body parts

I wanted to order a Baggage Compartment Door for my Motor Coach. When I called Thor they referred me back to the dealer that I bought the Coach from. So far the dealer has only offered a door that is too large for the opening that I have. I have exchanged emails back and forth several time and the dealer keeps telling me that the door offered is the only door available. When I call the dealer customer service they cannot do anything with out a model number and so far I cannot get such a number. This seems to be the perfect circle, no help from the dealer and no help from the manufacturer.

well they do need to know what you are going to be putting the door in to be able to get the right one, you should know what motor coach you have, that information is on the registration/ title and on the vehicle data stickers.

Bolts releasing from the frame, which caused buckling walls

We began our set up procedures when we started to hear loud banging. We thought we had gotten hit by a vehicle, and ran outside to investigate. No one was there. We noticed the bathroom door was offset 3-5 inches nor would it open. We had to enter the bathroom through the bedroom and saw the bathroom walls were bowed out exposing all the electrical wires. On the way out, of the RV, there was another loud bang, at the bathroom door. The door mechanism that held the door closed broke completely off. We also noticed the ceiling was starting to buckle. In the dinette area the slide flooring was raised 3 inches. We immediately left the RV. We grabbed all important paperwork, ran outside . We shut off the propane & unplugged electrical. We waited outside, still trying to figure out what was going on. At this time, we noticed water coming from the area of the fresh water tank. After opening the basement door we saw the medal support bar, under the water tank had bent into a “V” shape. The noises were so loud that surrounding campers came to see if they could help. The noise was coming from; under the bed, bathroom and dinette areas. At this point we were hesitant to go back in the trailer. No idea what had occurred. We are waiting for Thor or camping world to FIX THE PROBLEM….. I'm not holding my breath.

Brand new 2015 windsport 32n in shop more then on the road!

Where to begin bought brand new and has been at the shop more then at my house! First on the drive home from dealer 2 hrs away the front end sounded like it had a broke shock! Took to Ford dealer shocks where never tighten down! Mechanic said was surprised they didn't fall off! Next problem drivers seat would shut off and no water washer fluid would come out! Took to camping world (whole pain in the butt dealing with them) fixed took for ever! Now the slide leaks when closed looked on line and saw this happens a lot in the rush to put the slide in they didn't chaulk it properly! Found on YouTube how to fix it ordered stuff off line fixing it myself! We bought this RV to try and see if we would enjoy rather rv lifestyle. Then move up to a Diesel Pusher! Thor sent me a questionnaire about the rv I listed all the problems and receipts from the dealers and told them how disappointed I was with the rv they didn't call but sent back a letter stating how sorry they were no call nothing just Oh we sorry but to bad SUCKER! I'm planning a trip to Teax this summer to MHS biggest dealer in US hopefully I can get at least enough to pay off on a new DP! If I have to eat some money I will. Never will deal with Thor or Camping World Again!

Worst Mistake Ever

There isn't enough room to list all the issues with my rig. Every system has failed at least once. I have owned my Challenger for 8 months and it has been in the shop for 6 of those. Finally got it back again & took it out. The 12V system has failed now. I just discovered that the 4" pipe that should be connected to the black tank is attached to the grey water, the 2" pipe for the grey water is connect to the black. They are even marked backwards! BACKWARDS who puts together a product BACKWARDS?????? Do not purchase a @Thormotorhome

Oh I hear ya. They didn't put enough bolts on our chassis so the brackets bent causing the floor to cave.

We had it 6 weeks and put maybe 300 miles on it, slept in it 3 times. They've had it for 2 months now, still there.

Oh and Ford forgot some gaskets and the heater was missing a switch. I told them if it shows up in my driveway now I'm painting a lemon on the back of it so I can share my feelings for them.

#959260

We purchased our Challenger in January and took it out..only to list several issues. It has been in for service 6 weeks..picked it up Saturday and some issues were not corrected...and found new ones.

Headed back Friday! We are not happy campers!

We've had our 2015 for 6 weeks, Thor in Elkhart, IN 2 months. I'm getting my money back or will paint a lemon on the back.

We have 4 Great Danes so people will talk. The Lemon with 4 Great Danes and a Yorkie going coast to coast. If nothing else I'm going to make enough noise so they suffer in sales.

I'm going to be loud and share on social median. Quality over quantity would be a change for them.

Very Quality Manufacture

Purchased 2014 Thor ACE 30.1 in March of 2014. Biggest mistake of my like. Great design, no give a darn assembly. Big scare was the front cap started to come off. Now, that will get your attention, but not Thor's attention. They do not seem to give a rats fuzzy bottom about all my problems. Windshield wipers did not cover the drivers side. Windshield washers did not work. Hydraulic leak on levelers and then complete blowout of one of the lines. Fluid all over the place. Had to use the owners manual a lot to get the jacks back up. Many other problems. Shower surround bulging out from wall, edge banding on counters coming off, heat ducts full of sawdust, drawers opening during travel. We camped 37 days and had the coach into camping world for over 60 some days. Missed several camping events we had planned. Had two signs made up. One to go into the front window of the coach, when at the campground and one that shows in the back window at all times. The signs cover the windows, they are large. The sign in the back window reads," We will never purchase another Thor Motor Coach." The sign for the front window has Thor Motor Coach written across the sign with a big red circle with diagonal slash through the circle. The circle and slash is an international symbol for "Do not got there." I sent photos to 3 Thor sales managers for 3 different divisions of Thor, along with one person from Customer Service. Only one replay, and it did not even say that hey were sorry for my problems. I did not mention them all here.

If we ever get ours back from the factory after 60 days it will have a huge lemon painted on the back for the world to see. People notice when your traveling with 4 Great Danes and a Yorkie coast to coast in a "Lemon".
