Anything Thor makes is junk

Bought a 2017 jayco 5th wheel 2 months ago and have only been able to camp in it one night because we keep having problems we are up to 20 problems to date. Water lines leaking drain lines not connected hot water not working slider almost came out of the camper. We and the dealer thought we had all problems solved and we went camping yesterday 5/18/2017 and made it through the night and felt we had made it. Went outside to enjoy the morning and there was water leaking out the bottom of the trailer. The dealer sent a service man out to take the bottom off of the camper to find another leake and he found dried up food and wrappers left in the underbelly. He had to cut into the next layer to find the water line and about 50 gallons of water ran out and the insulation was saturated. This is the third time this camper has been flooded l will be getting a lawyer. Jayco use to be good campers I have had 3 before this one it will be my last pure junk.

Awful.

I would complain (in writing) directly to the manufacturer. Find the correct department and send via Certified Mail , Return Receipt requested. No more calls.

State facts : date & place of purchase, mileage since, and a chronological log of events stated as clearly and factually as possible.

Document any expenses incurred.

State what (if anything) is currently wrong with the unit and what you want done about it. Again, clarity and facts.

You are entitled to be "made whole" in terms of your investment. Are you the original purchaser of the unit ? You mentioned it is a 2017. If so, you are certainly entitled to warranty consideration on most counts. You have not abused the equipment. I wouldn't bother with a lawyer because then you will truly begin to lose money. And there isn't likely much legal recourse at this stage of your problem unless you have followed most of what I stated above. *** manufacturing does not constitute fraud or larceny, just bad business. When you contact the company, use terms like "disappointed" and "frustrated". "always previously satisfied repeat customer" "hopeful" "assistance" ... you get it. Do not use angry words, promise to boycott the company forever or threaten legal action. That won't work and is probably counter productive. Good fortune to you ; these methods have proven successful for me on several occasions.

I agree with you at that moment we were so upset we have owned this camper 3 months and we have only spent one night in it and are paying for a camping package and have no camper. We have a meeting with the dealer again and they are having trouble getting in touch with Jayco for conformation that jayco will pay for repairs.

The siding above one of the windows was cracked from poor installation and the dealer fixed it and was not reimbursed by Jayco.

Jayco has a limit on what they will pay them for repairs or if they will even pay they didn't have this problem until they were bought by Thor. Thank you for your advice

THOR Freedom 22 problems form the start

I purchased a new unit in March of 2016. It is very obvious that Thor does not quality check their product before it ships. I've had everything from a non working heater, hot water tank, non fitting window locks , non working back up camera to the Dinette falling through to the floor because the opening in the benches was to wide. Never again will I buy a Thor product and Never again will I deal with camping World. They are useless when I comes to customer service. Camping worlds operation consists of the Sales Department fighting with the Service department. The end result leaves the customer wondering who is in charge. I will sat that the THOR customer service people are very attentive, the problem is that they cant seem to find anyone to fix their Shoddy work.

2014 Thor Tuscany . Absolute Junk

You work hard and save all your life only to be swindled out of it by an unscrupulous RV Manufacturer. Just as the auto industry of the early 70's. Unfortunately we won't be getting the Japanese making Rv's , to force the industry to rethink their quality control....

I agree with you 100 % ! Voice your opinion and post your reviews on the dealership that has sold you the junk units.

It may be a long battle, but negative publicity eventually goes around, and maybe? some good will come out of it!

Swaying back and forth. It goes down the road just a rocking on calm days.

Driving down the road on calm days it rocks back and forth like the springs are weak or the shocks are shot. It only has 13000 miles on it anybody else have this problem ? Its onF 53 ford chasis 18000 Lb springs. THe bathroom stool is too high when you sit on it my feet don't touch the floor and I'm 6 ft tall. One of the hinges on a storage compartment door is almost wore out, the door sags when open. I wish I had gotten a double sink. More recepticles woud be handy to be able to plug in appliances and chargers for Ipads and phones

Brand new 2017 class c e450 Thor Chautau 31w, this has to be the worst motor home I have owned. Like other people the motor home is all over the road, weighted my motor home and the rear axle weight is over the gvw for this chassis.

This is why I the motor home is all over the road! Then if we load up the family the motor home is over the total gvw for this motor home. One of the selling points was that we would be able to tow a trailer, again the motor home is over the GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT. So no towing,no family iand no fun.

This only one item, the Jack not leveling right, the canopy will not stay in the lower position, with the refrigerator that in this motor home if you dry camping (no hook up) you will be up all night with the generator turning on all night. This is just a few of the problems that we have had in the first 1000.0 miles.

2015 Airstream International

Thor Industries - 2015 Airstream International
I bought new in 2015 airstream international from National RV in Detroit. The majority of the body was damaged by something that either hit or penetrated the aluminum throughout the body. Someone had sanded the damage and covered it with something like WD40 and then parked it up against a wall prior to my inspection, a rain shower 2 hours out washed off the film- revealing the damage and sanding marks. National RV told me airstream takes care of their own and to continue home, I was 100% covered but when I got home they told me to *** Off ! Airstream claims it's a regional problem so I had to sue National RV in Detroit, so far I've spent over 70'000.00 in lawyers fees and sold the airstream at a 40'000.00 loss with no resolution in sight.

Thor Miramar 34.3

Bought a 2017 miramar 34.3 new last June. Noticed after purchase that slide was a 2 track system ( not the 3 trax system it was supposed to have). We were rushed and did not note the defect during purchase. The remanufactured slide continued to have malfunctions (...

Our 2017 Thor Quantum

Before buying a Thor Quantum, please take a tour of ours. Five months later * Nov 1,2016, to Apr. 7, 2017, it is not repaired. Please take the tour at http://thorquantum.blogspot.com/2017/03/the-walk-thru.html This has to be a low point in American manufacturing. As I see it, there will be no alternative but to start legal proceedings. Promises and appreciation for patience by Thor's representative have had no results. They are just words. The company representatives have no ability to get their agents to the dealerships to fix what the dealers can't and our motor home just sits in the weather and rots. We bought that Thor Quantum with our savings to be our fiftieth anniversary present to each other. What a tragedy that has turned out to be. It sat in the shop on that date. We were told, "All RVs have problems", "None of them is perfect". I suppose that was said to make us feel better and part of a community, indeed, a community of people who spent their hard earned money on junk. Read reviews and don't buy as we did, letting emotions make you ***.

Funny because if you read reviews in Thor forums - everyone loooooves the Challenger. Good to see a review such as this.

Thor has been kicking out RV's lately with terrible QC. Having catastophic problems with my full wall slide on a Thor RV.

Thor Quantum (2017)

We purchased our rig last August. In the seven months we've had it, we took it out for a weekend in August, and just this month (March) we were able to take it out again. It's either in the shop, or waiting for parts. This trip was supposed to be the shake-down after...

I just find it funny that people are surprised that a very cheaply price Motorhome would have issues and or be poorly constructed. The materials required to build a halfway decent motorhome would at least be double the sticker price. For real sometimes you get what you pay for.

31W Motorhome poor Quality!

We just purchased a 31w Motorhome. Took it out for the first time. Started to look it over. The finish on this thing is terrible. Stables not set, some hanging out 3/16 of an inch. If the compressor is not keeping up with your guns. Wait for it to catch up. Trim has...

No doubt about the poor quality. Many seem to be having the same complaints.

Financially, Thor has done very well lately.

QC takes a second seat to profit....

I would be happy with the complaints you addressed. Keep reading about Thor motorhome issues - and you'll see some real paramount issues that have caused customers to completely abandon the RVing lifestyle - like my wife and I (and our three kids that are rapidly getting "too cool to camp").

I hope it all works out!

Issue with seats in 2014 Thor Palazzo

We purchased this unit used, however, it was less than a year old when we bought it. The front seats already had bits of the pleather flaking off when we purchased it. We have had it just over a year and it has been garage kept the entire time. However, the seats are now so bad that the flaking material sticks to your clothes and the seats look terrible. My dealer advised me that there is an issue w/ Georgetown's having the same problems and he thinks they were 2014 models as well. Is there a recall on this issue? I don't think I should bear the cost of replacing these seat covers as it appears to be a design flaw to me.
